Ethan Bramble, once known as “ModBoy” for being tattooed and modified from head to toe, is now rethinking the extreme choices that made him famous. The 24-year-old Australian, who once proudly showed off more than 200 tattoos and several dramatic body modifications, has begun the long process of removing his face tattoos—for the sake of his baby daughter’s future.
Ethan’s transformation began shockingly early. At just 11 years old, he started stretching his earlobes, a decision that sparked a fascination with changing his body in bold and unusual ways. Over the years, his modifications grew more intense: he split his tongue, removed his belly button, and filled nearly every inch of his skin with ink. His look made him instantly recognizable, but it also brought harsh criticism and constant stares from strangers.
For a while, Ethan embraced the attention. His appearance became his identity. But as he grew older—and especially after becoming a father—he started seeing things differently. He began to wonder how his daughter might feel when she grew up, and whether his extreme appearance might affect her life.
That realization hit hard. By the time Ethan wanted to slow down, most of his skin was already covered. Undoing everything suddenly felt overwhelming. He had invested about AUD 60,000 (around $39,000 USD) into building the look that defined him—and reversing it would require even more time, money, and pain.

Still, he chose to do it. One laser session at a time, Ethan is slowly erasing the past he once proudly wore, hoping to build a future his daughter can grow up proud of.
