Save it this time!⤵️

Keeping your jewelry shiny and clean doesn’t require pricey cleaners or trips to a jeweler. Over time, silver and other metals naturally tarnish as they react with air and moisture, leaving pieces looking dull or dark. The good news? You can restore their sparkle in minutes using a simple DIY solution made from everyday household items.

All you need are three basics: baking soda, salt, and liquid dish soap. Begin by heating one cup of water until it’s very hot. Stir in one tablespoon of each ingredient until fully dissolved. Line a small bowl with aluminum foil, shiny side facing up, then carefully pour in the mixture. Place your tarnished jewelry directly onto the foil, making sure it’s completely submerged.

After just five to ten minutes, the tarnish will begin to lift from the metal—no scrubbing required. This happens thanks to a mild chemical reaction between the aluminum foil, baking soda, and tarnish, which safely transfers the discoloration away from your jewelry.

Once finished, remove the pieces, rinse them under cool water, and gently dry with a soft cloth. The result is jewelry that looks noticeably brighter and refreshed. This method works well on sterling silver, gold-filled jewelry, brass, and German silver.

With minimal effort, zero harsh chemicals, and almost no cost, this simple trick can keep your favorite jewelry looking beautiful for years.
