On Tuesday night, Christina Derevjanik from Connecticut made television history on Wheel of Fortune, becoming only the fifth contestant ever to win the show’s coveted $1 million prize — and she did it with stunning confidence.
During regular gameplay, Derevjanik managed to land on the elusive $1 million wedge, instantly raising the stakes and setting herself up for a potential life-changing victory. Before heading into the Bonus Round, she playfully joked that she might be handing in her two weeks’ notice at her marketing job if luck stayed on her side.
The Bonus Round Moment
The category was “Living Things.” After the standard letters R, S, T, L, N, and E were revealed, Derevjanik selected M, C, F, and A to fill in the remaining blanks. The board lit up with just enough clues.
As host Ryan Seacrest began the tense 10-second countdown, there was no hesitation. With calm certainty, Derevjanik called out the correct answer: “Pack of coyotes.”
In that instant, the studio erupted — and she officially secured the million-dollar prize, cementing her place in Wheel of Fortune history.
