On Singularity, women scroll through various versions of Smith’s profile, meaning every swipe leads straight back to him. He told CNET that his main complaint with other apps was that his face didn’t show up often enough, so he designed this app as a playful fix.
The concept quickly took off online, with many amused by the bold — and humorous — approach. While Smith admits the project started as a joke, he also sees it as a creative commentary on how competitive and chaotic modern dating apps have become.
