Sleepover Turns Tragic: Georgia Child Suffers Severe Burns in Cruel Prank

Georgia’s Trey West spent New Year’s Day in the hospital after a sleepover prank turned horrifying. Investigators say three boys he trusted poured boiling water on his face while he slept, leaving him with severe second-degree burns.

The 12-year-old was rushed to a burn center for surgery and is now recovering at home, though his mother says he’s still emotionally “numb” from the betrayal. The three boys involved were arrested and released while awaiting court dates.

Despite the tragedy, the community has rallied around Trey, sending donations, prayers, and encouragement. His mother calls him a “warrior,” sharing updates of his steady healing—including a heartwarming video of Trey smiling and dancing with his little sister.

The incident is a painful reminder of how dangerous reckless pranks can be—and how deeply they can wound both body and trust.
