Before beginning the Bonus Round, Paminiano shared a touching personal moment by inviting his mother, Apolonia, onto the stage. Earlier that day, he had surprised her with the news that he would be appearing on the show, making the occasion even more meaningful for both of them. After selecting his Golden Envelope, he chose the category “Thing.” Once the standard letters—R, S, T, L, N, and E—appeared on the board, he added D, C, M, and A as his extra choices. The puzzle then displayed: “A _ _ M_N _ _ _CE.” Although the final word quickly became obvious, the missing letters in the middle word left him facing one of the evening’s toughest challenges.
As Ryan Seacrest started the ten-second countdown, Paminiano immediately recognized that the last word was “voice.” Working quickly, he began testing possibilities aloud, calling out answers including “A Calming Voice” and “A Soothing Voice.” Each guess sounded increasingly plausible, but none matched the solution hidden on the board.
